Yang Mi is a prominent Chinese actress and singer who has become one of the most recognizable figures in Chinese entertainment. Born on September 12, 1986, in the Xuanwu District of Beijing, she was given the name "Mi" (幂), which means "exponentiation," because both of her parents share the same surname Yang. She is a graduate of Beijing Film Academy's Performance Department and began her acting career at a very young age. Yang Mi gained early recognition for her compelling performances in television series, particularly her memorable roles as Guo Xiang in "The Return of the Condor Heroes" (2006) and Tang Xuejian in "Chinese Paladin 3" (2009). Her breakthrough came with the 2011 series "Palace," where she portrayed Luo Qingchuan, a performance that earned her the Most Popular Actress award at the 17th Shanghai Television Festival.
