Actors Sung Joon and Kim Si Ah may be joining the cast of Netflix's highly anticipated "Solo Leveling" adaptation.
According to a September 3 report from News1, both Kim Si Ah and Sung Joon are set to appear in the upcoming series. When reached for comment, representatives from Kim Si Ah's agency VARO Entertainment and Sung Joon's agency moahn Entertainment both provided identical statements, saying "Nothing has been confirmed."
The original "Solo Leveling" story started as a web novel and later expanded into a successful webtoon and animated series. The narrative follows Sung Jin Woo, who begins as an E-rank Hunter—the weakest classification among those tasked with defending humanity from creatures that emerge from mysterious Gates. Following a brush with death, he acquires remarkable powers and progressively levels up, ultimately becoming an unlikely savior for mankind.
Based on the reports, Kim Si Ah would portray Han Song Yi, a friend of Sung Jin Ah, who is the protagonist Sung Jin Woo's younger sister. Sung Joon is reportedly being considered for Woo Jin Chul, described as one of the important supporting characters in the source material.
The production has already confirmed Byeon Woo Seok as the lead character Sung Jin Woo. Additionally, Han So Hee and Kang You Seok are reportedly in discussions for the roles of Cha Hae In and Yoo Jin Ho. Several other notable actors including Kang Mina, Rain, Lee Sung Min, and Lee Hong Nae are also said to be considering joining the project.
